For my first post on my new blog, connected to my new web site, I thought it would be appropriate to post some photos of one of the nearby locations my wife and I like a lot, the Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farm, in Wells, Maine.
We took a little hike there on Mother's Day morning, despite the forecast of wind and rain. When we arrived it was partly sunny, but by the time we walked down to the ocean, the fog was rolling in. The fog on the water and in the trees along the marsh added a feeling of mystery, as if we could have been anywhere other than on a familiar beach. We enjoyed picking through the tumbled rocks, and admired how the waves had sculpted the sand into fascinating patterns. By the time we hiked back to the car the rain was starting to fall, but it had allowed us just enough time for a wonderful Spring nature walk.
